Reasons to watch:
The films style, common to many Jarman films is very tight, there are no sweeping architectural shots or panoramic views of 16th century Italy. This gives the film a very character driven story. Not to mention the reproduction and re-staging of many of his paintings are fantastic.
The not-so-strict approach to historical accuracy is quite enjoyable in my opinion.
Tilda Swinton.
